The latest test result of Nano - Silver
Mahidol University reveals the efficiency test results of Nano Silver to restrain drug resistance, found that the inhibitory effect works on pathogens 15 species and able to prevent infection growth up to 24 hours.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Natharin Ngamwongsatit and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nathita Phumthanakorn, specialists from the faculty of veterinary science from Mahidol University, revealed the efficiency test results of Nano Silver to restrain drug resistance in 15 pathogens species isolated from dogs and cats with lesions and infections on the skin or ears, including Methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) 5 species, Methicillin-resistant S. pseudointermedius (MRSP) 5 species, and Multidrug-resistant (MDR) P. aeruginosa 5 species, testing by 2 test methods that are Agar Well Diffusion method which resulted that Nano Silver capacity of 20, 40, and 60 microlitres can restrain all 15 pathogen species, and the clear zone correlates with the amount of Nano Silver tested, with inhibitory activity observed starting at 20 microlitres.
And the Time Kill assay methods which resulted that Nano Silver can resist the growth of MRSA and MRSP in 2, 4, 8, and 12 hours and does not discover the growth of such pathogen in 24 hours when compared to controlled substances PBS and MHB that the growth of the infection was observed at every test period, and it was discovered that it can reduce the growth of MDR P. aeruginosa within 2 – 4 hours and does not discover the growth of the pathogen in 8 – 24 hours when compared to the controlled substance PBS and MHB that the growth of the infection founded at every test period.
In conclusion, when compared to controlled substances, Nano Silver effectively restrains the growth of MRSA, MRSP, and MDR P. aeruginosa up to 24 hours when compared to controlled substances.
